“Rhetoric is the faculty of discovering all of the means of persuasion in any particular case” – Aristotle. I quite agree with Aristotle’s idea. In my view, rhetoric is a good and tremendous method or skill to persuade others, for example, if I am a shop assistant, I would rather say “this is a cheap and beautiful shirt” that “this is a shirt”. When we are speaking to try to persuade someone, with rhetorical devices we can successful persuade them. As for another example, one day, I desired to go out for some fun with my roommate, Jamal. However, Jamal insisted to stay at dormitory and watch anime. I started to persuade him to go out with me, but I considered that if I only say go out and play, Jamal definitely rejected my idea, because the anime attracted him a lot more than outside. For that reason, I applied two aspects to persuade Jamal to go outside. The first is that I let him see weather outside of window, and there is a super wonderful sunshine day and praised how weather is nice. The second is that he could see anime whatever time he wanted, and also he had a lot of spare time, so finally, he agreed with me and played outside with me.
